Water-resistant jewelry
"Water-resistant jewelry" is jewelry that can withstand water in everyday life - such as hand washing and light rain - without changing expression quickly. It's all about the material and surface. Stainless steel and solid gold typically withstands water better than plated jewelry such as gold plated. In some cases, the following are also used PVD treatment (Physical Vapor Deposition), where a very thin, hard coating "bonds" to the surface and can provide better wear resistance than traditional coating - but it's still a surface that can eventually wear out depending on use. Jewelry with stones, beads or glue should generally be kept dry.
Silver Sterling 925
Sterling silver 925 is one of the most used materials for jewelry. "925" means that the jewelry consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, which makes it more robust for everyday wear. It gives a classic silver look that's easy to style, and with simple care, the jewelry can stay beautiful for a long time.
Gold plated sterling silver 925
Gold plated sterling silver 925 is real sterling silver (92.5% silver) with a thin layer of gold on the surface, which gives a warm gold colored look. Gold plating is typically done with gold in approximately 18-22 carats, and the color can therefore vary in tone. As the coating is a surface, the finish is best maintained with gentle use and proper care.
More about Friendship Necklace
With this friendship necklace, Maanesten has beautifully reinterpreted the iconic friendship jewelry that you recognize from childhood. The Friendship Necklace is more than just a piece of jewelry, it's a declaration of love to a special friend. The necklace can be split in two, so when you're not together, you can reminisce about the times you've already shared and look forward to making even more memories in the future.
The necklace should be seen as a symbol of the strength and closeness that can arise in very close friendships, where you want to show the rest of the world that this person is close to my heart and I am only 100% whole when I am with that person - just as the necklace is completed when it is together.
The Friendship Necklace from Maanesten is designed with care and carries the symbol of the sun and moon. The sun symbolizes light, warmth and vitality, while the moon represents calmness, mystery and beauty - the theme of the sun and moon's eternal connection.
The Friendship necklace from Månesten is available in both silver or gold-plated silver.
