Enamel Copenhagen was founded in 2012 by Marie Rantzau with the desire to create colorful, poetic and high-quality jewelry. The brand combines Nordic simplicity with handmade enamel details for a playful and feminine look. "Water-resistant jewelry" is jewelry that can withstand water in everyday life - such as hand washing and light rain - without changing expression quickly. It's all about the material and surface. Stainless steel and solid gold typically withstands water better than plated jewelry such as gold plated. In some cases, the following are also used PVD treatment (Physical Vapor Deposition), where a very thin, hard coating "bonds" to the surface and can provide better wear resistance than traditional coating - but it's still a surface that can eventually wear out depending on use. Jewelry with stones, beads or glue should generally be kept dry.

Gold plated sterling silver 925 is real sterling silver (92.5% silver) with a thin layer of gold on the surface, which gives a warm gold colored look. Gold plating is typically done with gold in approximately 18-22 carats, and the color can therefore vary in tone. As the coating is a surface, the finish is best maintained with gentle use and proper care.

Freshwater pearls are genuine, naturally formed pearls created inside freshwater mussels and known for their soft, elegant lustre. They typically appear in white and cream tones, but can also show pink, peach, or subtle lavender undertones. Unlike mother-of-pearl, which is material from the shell, freshwater pearls are the pearl itself—often round or slightly oval with natural variations. This makes each pearl unique and creates a more organic, luxurious look. Freshwater pearls require gentle care, especially regarding perfume, hairspray, and prolonged contact with water.
