How to take care of your jewelry

We are aware that jewelry for many has a special value and significance. Therefore, it is nice to know how to best care for your jewelry so they have a long and beautiful lifespan.

There is a difference in jewelry in their quality and design. But overall, there are many common "basic rules" for how to best care for your jewelry.

We recommend that you always take the jewelry off:

  • When you take a bath

  • When you sleep

  • During sunbathing

  • During cleaning

  • During sports activities

  • During the execution of gardening

Also protect your jewelry from:

  • Sharp edges

  • Sunlight

  • Extreme cold or heat

The jewelry must not come into contact with:

  • Nail polish remover

  • Perfume

  • Hairspray

  • Other chemicals

Things and products such as cream, soap, perfume, sweat, detergent and other chemicals are influential to destroy the surface of the jewelry. If the jewelry comes in regular contact with the above, or other forms of close connection, your jewelry may end up with an ugly coating on the surface.
Therefore, always make sure that you take off your jewelry before bathing, training, etc.

When you are not wearing your jewelry, they definitely have the best of being stored in a jewelry box, jewelry box, closed container or in a dark drawer.

But it is important to remember that one's jewelry is bought to be used. So do not store them too far away and do not be too careful with them.

All jewelry can advantageously be cleaned or polished, so that they again become fresh and beautiful to look at. A-Hjort recommends the products from Hagerty for this. Feel free to use a soft cloth to polish with.

Obs. silver and gold purifiers must not be used on precious stones, zircons, pearls, stones or diamonds.
