Maanesten was founded in 2010 by jewelry designer Lotte Callesen, who wanted to create a dreamy universe of feminine, spiritual and handmade jewelry. Maanesten unites organic shapes, colorful stones and a poetic, bohemian expression, inspired by the magic of nature and inner peace. The collections include earrings, rings, bracelets, anklets and necklaces in silver and gold-plated silver, designed to be mixed and matched so each wearer can create their own personal, intuitive look and a wealth of accessories to complement the full expression. Maanesten stands out with its artistic craftsmanship, its adventurous design language and its unique ability to unite everyday luxury with spiritual aesthetics.

"Water-resistant jewelry" is jewelry that can withstand water in everyday life - such as hand washing and light rain - without changing expression quickly. It's all about the material and surface. Stainless steel and solid gold typically withstands water better than plated jewelry such as gold plated. In some cases, the following are also used PVD treatment (Physical Vapor Deposition), where a very thin, hard coating "bonds" to the surface and can provide better wear resistance than traditional coating - but it's still a surface that can eventually wear out depending on use. Jewelry with stones, beads or glue should generally be kept dry.

Gold plated sterling silver 925 is real sterling silver (92.5% silver) with a thin layer of gold on the surface, which gives a warm gold colored look. Gold plating is typically done with gold in approximately 18-22 carats, and the color can therefore vary in tone. As the coating is a surface, the finish is best maintained with gentle use and proper care.

Moonstone is an elegant gem known for its soft, “moon-like” glow—often seen as a luminous sheen moving across the surface when the stone catches the light. It typically appears in white, cream, and pale grey tones, but it can also show a bluish flash or warm peachy hues. Moonstone is usually slightly translucent to opaque and may contain natural veils that create a dreamy look. It is widely used in jewellery to create a feminine, timeless style—especially in gold and silver. Moonstone benefits from gentle care, as it can be more sensitive to knocks and scratches.
